Eat Healthy

 

To change eating habits and start to eat healthy can be difficult. Familiar foods makes you feel comfortable, just like a favorite piece of clothing. Your diet is a huge part of your life.

You learn about healthy eating in magazines, television, talking with friends, etc., but you don't necessarily begin on healthy nutrition... until you have no choice:

  1. Weight loss: Walking is a wobble. You buy new clothes only because they fit! Economy seats in aircraft must be getting smaller...
  2. Ill health: You have health problems which could be diet related.

Tomorrow you begin your eat a healthy diet. After a few days you give up. The family do not want diet change. They say you are not too fat


Still, you need to diet. To be on a diet = boring meals. Or does it?

There is a diet to suit you, for quick weight loss and for some diseases. Diets can include lots of tasty food.

You can use a strict diet to deal with the immediate problem, then start a lifelong diet which will make sure you eat a healthy diet, and never go hungry.



Understand your diet.

  1. Learn about foods you should eat. Why are they healthy nutrition?
  2. Learn about the foods which are unhealthy. Why aren't they nutritious?
  3. Stop buying unhealthy food for the family, so you aren't tempted by it.
  4. Learn about your disease, be it obesity, diabetes, heart disease...
  5. Learn to understand the effects of your new diet on your health.
  6. Understand the effects of your old diet on your health.



Exercise uses the energy you eat. Walk to the shops, an extra bus stop. Walk up stairs. Walk the kids to school.

It is difficult to walk without reason.The excuses soon come...too wet, too cold, too hot, too little time.

Get a walking partner. Force each other to walk, if only for 10 minutes every day.

Catch up on gossip while you walk. If need be, walk 15 minutes to your favorite cafe, drink your coffee, then walk home again.Cafe too far away? Take turns to drive closer, park the car, then walk the rest. Surprise yourself. You'll enjoy these little walks.

You'll begin to FEEL better with exercise before you LOOK better.
